Bill Rennicke Awarded 2016 Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation Volunteer of the Year
On Tuesday, August 23, 2016, Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF) held a private check presentation ceremony to donate $2.66 million dollars to 14 local charities serving children in need in Northwest Florida, including a generous $180,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Walton County, Florida. The funds were raised during DCWAF’s annual auction weekend held in April and is the Foundation’s largest charitable distribution to date.
The evening honored supporters, awarded funds and also recognized those who go above and beyond. Habitat Walton County’s own Bill Rennicke received the tremendous honor as the 2016 DCWAF Volunteer of the Year.
“Bill runs an army to put the auction floor together,” said John Russell, President of DCWAF as he announced Bill as the award recipient, “Then runs the army again to take it back up a week later. He is amazing.”
In addition to coordinating the building and dismantling the DCWAF plywood floors, Bill is a long-time devoted Habitat volunteer who dedicates hundreds of hours every year to organize, coordinate and build Habitat homes in Walton County. Habitat Walton County feels truly blessed to have people like Bill who are passionate about advancing Habitat’s mission on the team, and could not accomplish the work without them.
